This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

It looks like our daughter inherited my nose. It’s too early to tell if she got my husband’s curls. She has his long fingers and ears for sure, and I think she also has his mouth and cheekbones. My husband thinks she looks just like my dad, complete with his cheeks and chin. Jury is out on who gave her their feathery eyebrows.

One day when she’s older we might be able to say she has my husband’s mom’s musical ability, or my mom’s steady pragmatism. And maybe then we’ll be able to decide where her bright eyes came from.
