This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

On our final full day with family, we went out for my father-in-law’s birthday. Our daughter wore a dress and matching bloomers made for her by my mother-in-law. We dressed her at the last minute to avoid spit up. It was only partially successful.

At the restaurant we were near another table with two babies, both older than her. All the babies were on their best behavior. Our table agreed she was the cutest baby around, though.

For his birthday, she gave her grandpa lots of cuddles and gummy smiles. I don’t think I can give him a better gift.
