This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

At almost a month old, it’s a little too early to say my daughter has a pattern. She mostly has tendencies.

She likes to take a long stretch of sleep after 2 am, and refuses naps in the afternoon. Unless she can sleep on us, and then she’ll nap for as long as we stay perfectly still. I make plans for the day, like calling insurance or folding laundry, and she does her best to disrupt my plans. Her best is very good, I might add.

It’s an exercise in flexibility. But I never thought I’d long for a schedule.
