This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

When pregnant, we selected the items on our registry based on aesthetic preference, sustainability of materials, and consumer reviews. Today we went to a children’s consignment shop to find a stroller to keep at the grandparents. Our stroller was there for almost a fifth of the original price, and the store was bursting with gear, clothes, and toys.

There is so much stuff associated with babies, and some of it makes life easier. But for every object in the store, many more are in landfills. What happens when we run out of space- mental, physical, emotional- for all this stuff?
