This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

We are at my sister’s to spend a lot of time lounging together outside. This morning our daughter was fussy and wakeful. My sister appeared at the door to take our daughter away, instructing my husband and me to go back to sleep.

What a precious gift, those two hours we stole. We were more rested and more refreshed, of course. But also our daughter has so many people in her life who love her, who will look out for her, who want to make faces at her and feed her while we sleep. Who would not be so grateful?
