This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

Noting her lack of growth, our daughter’s pediatrician asked how hard it would be for me to give up dairy. Not hard. I’m just hyper-aware.

My favorite snack was cheese, my favorite dessert was ice cream. Out at dinner I ask the server what would be the best dairy-free options. She looks like she’d rather be anywhere than answering that question. I choose the chicken with dates.

It’s too early to really tell if removing dairy is working. But my daughter is gulping down milk, and her stomach seems happy. That’s more than what I need to keep pushing through.
