This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.
My mother-in-law said that our daughter makes the same faces my husband made as a baby. My dad told me that I used to get so angry about being hungry that I wouldn’t eat, the same as my daughter does.
This evening we met up with my oldest friend and introduced our daughter to her parents. Her parents have known me since I was born. They are part of my third family, the web of cousins and aunts and uncles that are not blood. Now they’ve met our daughter. What a gift to have such stories and knowledge passed down.
