This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

This weekend we have visitors. My sister and her family have come to stay and meet our daughter.

My niece and nephew are as interested and engaged with our daughter as you could expect two toddlers to be. We’ve practiced whispering during naps, explained why we don’t pick up the baby by ourselves, and used access to our daughter as incentive to get in the stroller. We’ve also fed the dogs showers of goldfish, tried to give pizza to the baby, and had a loop of Disney on in the background. It’s all chaos and joy and the occasional meltdown.
