This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

Today was a tough day where nursing alternated with her demands to be held, and no naps were to be had. So I tried to deal by:

-Eating a cookie for breakfast and drinking coffee in bed at almost noon

-Calling my sister to complain and listening to her complain too

-Watching two thirds of The Princess Bride, my ultimate comfort movie, while feeding her four times

-Vibing to a new shitty, forgettable pop song on the drive back from the pharmacy where I bought gas drops

-Taking two short, intensely hot showers

-Mistaking bird songs for my daughter's cries
