This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

A milestone today- we loaded up the car with our daughter, dog, and stroller, and drove ten minutes to our nearest lake. It was warm and still and we could hear birds singing as we walked the almost three miles. Near the end we stopped for refreshments and I fed her while listening to teenagers shout to each other across the water.

We were far from the only people out with a dog and a baby. There were toddlers too, and older children. It felt exciting, to get a glimpse of what will become a very treasured routine for us.
