This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

Every time I think we’ve achieved success the situation changes. There’s a metaphor in there somewhere.

We’ve mastered the cross body hold, and have outgrown the football. Google tells my husband she may have acid reflux and diagnoses the koala hold. I wanted to discard the nipple shields, but it seems like we need them to slow down her pace. At least she’s successful in eating. She’s gained three pounds in a month.

She spends much of her time eating. She’s mostly happy with the situation. I only wish there was a way to spend a little less time stationary.
