This is part of a creative project called 100 Word, 100 Days. In this project I’ll be writing a 100 word piece about my experience as a new mother every day for 100 days. Read more here.

My daughter resists burping. This resistance leads to gas, which leads to pain, which leads to screaming. When she is burped, she prefers to spit up a good deal of whatever she just ate.

Her bassinet and stroller are full of spit up. Her clothing is full of her spit up. My clothes are full of her spit up, so I feed her shirtless and her spit up ends up on my chest. The dog likes licking her burp cloths. Neither our dog nor daughter seem bothered by this development. According to the baby book, I should not worry either.
